Even the most complicated and beautiful quilts are made up of basic quilting units. Tis Fantastic! is a book by Janna Thomas that teaches you how to make some breath taking blocks, all using basic units you may already know how to create, and is a continuation from the Tis Amazing book!

The TIS in Tis Fantastic stands for triangle in a square and every block in this book has at least one Tis unit in its composition. A triangle in a square is a square unit consisting of two seams with one point in the middle of one side and the two remaining points cutting the opposite two corners in half.

Some of the blocks have you use the same technique multiple times in different directions creating shapes and images you've only imagined. A couple of blocks she illustrates are so easy, you'll wonder why you hadn't thought of it yourself before.

Tis Fantastic contains charts for each block so you can easily see what it takes to create them in multiple sizes. Each block also comes with yardage lists and directions to create a project based on the block. The projects range from crib sized to queen, but all the designs could easily be enlarged through an extra row or two of the blocks to make what ever size quilt you want.
