Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 Cotton/Poly Blend Batting is our most popular batting! This versatile pre-packaged batting is 80% unbleached cotton and 20% polyester, bonded and needle-punched and has a light resin bonding to provide exceptional strength and durability. It offers more loft and less weight than traditional cotton batting, is durable and machine-washable. Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 Cotton/Poly Blend Batting is suitable for a variety of applications, including for use in utility quilts, children’s quilts, charity quilts, quilts being given as gifts, as well as in table runners, placemats and wall quilts/hangings. This batting works well for both machine and hand quilting.

There is 3-5% shrinkage and you can expect approximately 1/8+" loft. The manufacturer recommends leaving no more than 4" between quilting. Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 Cotton/Poly Blend Batting should be used with medium or dark fabrics. If used with light colored fabrics, unbleached cotton can slightly darken white and light or pastel colors. For optimal results, it is recommended to test with your fabric.
