Where the Elvira Machine Quilting Ruler really shines is for quilting continuous curves. You may know continuous curves as the orange peel design. Continuous curves are a grid based quilting design that arcs from corner to corner in a block. You'll find it in so many different quilts and so many different shapes. Elvira was specially designed for continuous curves in a 2" square, but she is so versatile you can use her in lots of different sized blocks.

Elvira has straight lines going across the width of the ruler. These reference lines are helpful for quilting continuous curves because you can use them to line up with your seams. Because most of us aren't perfect piecers, these reference lines will help you keep your curves flattering to the blocks.
