The Passport 3.0 is PFAFF's compact machine, made for small sewing rooms and for the sewing you do somewhere else. It weighs 14.7 pounds, comes with a hard cover, and lives happily on a shelf between classes.
It is a full PFAFF in a small footprint. The Original IDT system is in it, the stitches go the full 7mm wide, and Auto Snip cuts your threads and tucks the tails to the back of the work.
Original IDT, in a machine that travels
IDT is PFAFF's integrated dual feed, and it has been their signature for over forty years. A second set of feed teeth comes down from above and moves the top layer at the same rate the feed dogs move the bottom one.
Piecing lands where you pinned it. Plaids meet at the seam. A binding does not creep ahead of its backing. It is the reason a machine this size behaves like a bigger one where it counts.
100 stitches, all of them 7mm wide
Utility stitches, buttonholes, quilt stitches, needle art, satin stitches and decorative rows, up to 7mm across and 4.5mm long. That full width is what lets a decorative stitch read as a design instead of a line.
A 1.3 inch display keeps the settings in front of you, and the stitch menu pulls out from the right side of the machine so you can see the whole collection at once.
Auto Snip, and the rest of the class-table features
Auto Snip cuts the top and bobbin threads at a press and pulls the tails through to the back of the fabric. On appliqué, on piecing, on anything with a lot of starts and stops, that is a pair of snips you never pick up.
Start and stop runs the machine without the foot pedal, which helps at a rented table with no floor room. The speed slider holds your pace, two LED lights cover the work without a shadow, and the feed dogs drop from a lever at the back of the free arm for stippling and darning. There are 5.7 inches (145mm) to the right of the needle.

Passport 3.0 or Passport 2.0?
Same footprint, same weight class, same Original IDT. The 3.0 adds 30 more stitches, a 1.3 inch display and Auto Snip. The Passport 2.0 covers the same ground with 70 stitches and a manual thread cutter, and it is the sensible choice if you mostly sew long seams. If you stop and start often, Auto Snip is the thing you will notice every single session.

PFAFF warrants the machine frame for 10 years and the electronic and electrical components for 2 years, supplying replacement parts free in both cases. The remaining mechanical parts are covered for one year, including labor. The warranty goes to the original purchaser buying from an authorized PFAFF dealer, so keep your receipt with the warranty card.
