The Passport 2.0 is PFAFF's compact machine, and the point of it is that it goes where you go. It weighs 13.9 pounds, it comes with a hard cover, and it fits on a bookshelf between retreats.
What makes it a PFAFF rather than just a small machine is the Original IDT system, which PFAFF has been building into machines since 1968 and does not leave out of the little ones.
70 stitches, all of them 7mm wide
Utility stitches for the everyday work, buttonholes, quilt stitches, needle art and satin stitches, and decorative rows that go up to a full 7mm. That width matters: it is what makes a decorative stitch read as a design rather than a squiggle.
The stitch menu pulls out from the right side of the machine, so the whole collection is in front of you rather than buried in a manual.
Original IDT in a machine you can carry
A second set of feed teeth comes down from above and moves the top layer at the same rate as the feed dogs move the bottom. Piecing stays where you pinned it, plaids meet, and a binding does not creep ahead of its backing.
This is the feature people cross the shop for, and it is the reason a Passport behaves like a bigger machine on the seams that matter.
Built for a class table
Start and stop runs the machine without the foot pedal, which is a gift when you are perched at a rented table with no room to set one. The speed slider holds whatever pace you choose, and two LED lights cover the work without a shadow.
Feed dogs drop from a lever at the back of the free arm for stippling and darning. The needle threader is built in. There are 5.7 inches (145mm) to the right of the needle.

Passport 2.0 or Passport 3.0?
The two are the same size and the same weight class, and both have Original IDT. The Passport 3.0 gives you 100 stitches instead of 70, a small display for the settings, and Auto Snip, which cuts the top and bobbin threads at a button and pulls the tails to the back of the work. If you sew a lot of short seams and stop often, Auto Snip is the one you will feel every day. If you mostly run longer seams, the 2.0 covers the same ground for less.

How heavy is the Passport 2.0?

Does a machine this small really have the IDT system?

Yes. The feed dogs drop from a lever at the back of the free arm, which is handy to reach, and the start and stop button lets you run the machine without the foot pedal while you guide the work with both hands.

What warranty comes with the Passport 2.0?
PFAFF warrants the machine frame for 10 years and the electronic and electrical components for 2 years, supplying replacement parts free in both cases. The warranty goes to the original purchaser buying from an authorized PFAFF dealer, so keep your receipt with the warranty card.
