The creative icon 2 is the top of everything PFAFF makes. It sews, it quilts and it embroiders, and it is the machine they build when the question stops being what it costs and starts being what is possible.
Two things set it apart from every other machine in the shop. It is the first and only sewing machine with voice control, and it has a projector that puts your stitching onto the fabric before a needle goes near it.

360 by 350mm in one hooping
That is 14.2 by 13.8 inches, and it is among the largest single-hooping areas you can buy. A finished quilt block goes in whole. So does the back of a jacket, a pillow front, or a name across a tote in one pass.
Four hoops come with the machine: the Grand Dream at 360 by 350mm, the Supreme at 360 by 260, the Elite at 260 by 200 and the 120 Square for monograms and small motifs. You are not buying hoops separately to get started.
The projector shows you the stitch before you sew it
A projector in the machine head throws light onto the fabric: a grid, guidelines, a preview of the decorative stitch you have chosen, or the whole embroidery design sitting inside the hoop.
You move the fabric until the picture is where you want it, then you stitch. Placement becomes something you can see and adjust, on the actual cloth, at full size, instead of something you measure and hope for.
Voice control, and a machine that knows which foot you fitted
This is the only sewing machine with voice control. Your hands stay on the fabric and the machine takes the instruction, which matters most in the middle of a long seam or with a quilt gathered in both arms.
Fit any of the included presser feet and the machine recognizes it, then tells you whether it suits the stitch you have selected. It is the kind of check that saves a stitched-and-unpicked afternoon.
Light that shows the real color, and power to go through anything
PFAFF had optronic engineers design the lighting, and the goal was color accuracy as much as brightness. Thread you match under this light is thread that still matches in daylight, which anyone who has quilted a navy binding at ten at night will appreciate.
Needle piercing power is rated at 150NWT, and the base plate is engineered to hold the machine steady at speed. Denim, upholstery weight, a stack of quilt seams: it goes through and stays put.
mySewnet keeps the machine current
Every mySewnet device on your wifi talks to the others, so a design you save on the computer is on the machine when you walk to it. No USB stick, no file hunting.

Over 800 stitches, and room to invent more
There are more than 800 built-in stitches and 873 embroidery designs on the machine when it arrives. Stitch Creator lets you draw your own or reshape a built-in one, and tapering finishes a decorative row at a clean angle instead of a blunt stop.
Three free-motion modes cover different kinds of quilting, and you can sew with the embroidery unit still attached, which saves the unhook-and-rehook dance in the middle of a project.
The details that show up on the third day, not the first
An electronic knee lift and an automatic presser foot lift mean the foot goes up and down without your hands leaving the work. The bobbin is extra large with a jam-proof rotary hook and its own winding motor, so you can wind a bobbin while the machine is threaded. Top and bobbin thread sensors tell you before you have stitched two inches of nothing. The straight stitch needle plate has a sensor, so the machine knows it is fitted and protects the needle.
The optional creative Embellishment Attachment opens up couching, ribbon and yarn work. It is sold separately, and the Quilt Fairies can show you what it does before you decide.

The creative icon 3 is the next generation, arriving in fall 2026, and it adds free-arm embroidery and hoop scanning. If you sew rather than embroider, the Performance Icon puts the same engineering into a dedicated sewing machine. What warranty comes with the creative icon 2?
PFAFF warrants the machine frame for 20 years and the electronic and electrical components for 5 years, supplying replacement parts free in both cases. The remaining mechanical parts are covered for one year, including labor. The warranty goes to the original purchaser buying from an authorized PFAFF dealer, so keep your receipt with the warranty card.
How is the creative icon 2 different from the creative icon 3?
The creative icon 3 is the next generation and arrives in fall 2026. It adds free-arm embroidery for tubular items, hoop scanning, Quick Quilt Settings and a larger maximum embroidery area with an optional hoop. The creative icon 2 is available now and is the only PFAFF with voice control. The Quilt Fairies will happily walk you through both at (502) 718-7148.
