Tshirt Quilt for High School Graduation
Here's a t-shirt quilt I recently did for a football player who is graduating from high school. I was able to use the football jerseys just by stabilizing the fabric with non woven fusible interfacing. It worked out great.
First I pinned up the blocks to my design wall. (You can see in this photo that I haven't covered the foam insulation with flannel yet but I did a few days after this photo was taken). Once I have the layout done, I start sewing the sashing on the blocks and assembling the top. Finally I quilt a large meander and bind it.
This quilt was for a customer in Iowa so I didn't get a chance to meet with her when I returned the quilt but she did send me an email to let me know how much her son loved it! She said is is now a cherished sentimental item in his world.
I have a cool job, eh?
