Sondra's Quilt from a Mark Lipinski Workshop
Sondra is in my quilt guild and she recently attended a workshop by Mark Lipinski. Someday I hope to meet him, as his sense of humor makes me giggle. He has a fabulous magazine which I tried to subscribe to through Amazon but after waiting a YEAR to get the first magazine delivered, I cancelled my subscription. I sure do hope Amazon gets their magazine service figured out because I'd love to get Quilter's Home. I love the writing style of that magazine.
Sondra did this quilt top during our guild retreat in February at Country Lake Retreat Center. We spend three days sewing our fingers off in a window laced room overlooking a frozen lake. It was beautiful and very relaxing.
I don't know if you can see the quilting well on these photos. I did a freehand meander through the center with cabbage roses, leaves and scrolls. The outside border is freehand roses and leaves. The thin green you see between the inner rose border and the outside olive rose border is a small flange which gives it a great dimensionality to the quilt.
