Sarah's Snowflake Latte Quilt
Sarah is WAY ahead of the game for 2010 Christmas quilts! I love the combination of the churn dash and the snowball blocks. I think the churn dash is one of my all time favorite blocks.
She put a piping detail between each row of blocks which made my quilting a little harried at times. Trying to keep a massive hopping foot from colliding and hanging up on the piping is quite a challenge. But I love the way this quilt turned out. I had fun with my Intelliquilter as I modified the holly border to be continuous and turn the corner. I did the border without having to turn the quilter which saves Sarah money and me time. Win-win!
There is a snowflake inside every churn dash and swirls in the white portion of the churn dash. The snowball blocks all have a curvy snowflake. It looks really great and I should have taken some photos of the backside for 'ya. The backing is Christmas red and I used white thread on the top, so the it looks awesome!
