I’ve had a bunch of fun playing with this funky quilt. You may remember I mentioned it in this post and you can see a wide photo of it there too.

I’m using Superior Threads Metallic with a #19 needle and Superior’s Bottom Line in the bobbin. I love working with their metallic because it is strong and my APQS Millennium LOVES it too. The thread is variegated so it talks really LOUD on the black background and I love the boldness of the choice.

I’m just doing a freehand doodle for the background fill. My client, Kathy,told me to have fun and I am!

For the sun I used a variegated Lava thread also by Superior called Sunset. I did a branching curl in the sun and echoed lines in the rays. I went back to the metallic for the eyes and pupils.

For the panel with the word “Dream” I threw in some feather designs to really take the whimsey over the top. I still have a long way to go to finish this quilt but I can’t wait to show it to Kathy!
