They just keep coming! The theme of today's post is summertime quilting. Pinwheels Quilt Melissa is a relatively new renter at Quilted Joy, but she is definitely not new to the world of quilting and sewing. You may know her popular blog, Polka Dot Chair. She quilted this top earlier this summer and blogged about it here: Polka Dot Chair Summer Pinwheel Quilt. We'll let her speak for herself! Melissa is a fabric designer with Riley Blake and her passion shows in every project she quilts here. Turn Twenty Quilt Batiks Fammie's quilt is made up of summery blue and green batiks. This looks like a Turning Twenty quilt - quick and easy to piece with such a rewarding result! Fammie wanted the focus to remain on the gorgeous fabrics, so she picked the meander design board and a blue thread that blended across all those blues and greens. When you're making a relaxed quilt, a meander is perfect. Beautiful work, Fammie! Batiks Turn Twenty Quilt Farm Girl Vintage Margie finished her Farm Girl Vintage top! There have been several of these quilted at Quilted Joy over the past few months, and each one is different. Margie chose to use a design board to quilt hers in an overall pattern. She used the Bubbles design board and selected white thread for her quilting. Bubbles sounds like it would be a very specific pattern, but it actually creates good overall texture. Doesn't it look great here? What's more summery than strawberries and canned goods and sunflowers? Farm Girl Vintage Flannel Quilt Colleen's top was quilted in the summer and is made of bright, summery colors, but guess what? Those are all flannels! Flannels are becoming so popular, and they are no longer restricted to wintry or baby-themed designs. Colleen quilted this very angular, geometric design with the Jessie's Swirls pantograph and grey thread. What a unique quilt! Love it, Colleen! Everything looks wonderful, ladies!
