Molly's First Quilt
Molly is a thirteen-year-old from here in Louisville who wanted to learn how to piece a quilt top. After it was finished, she and her mom brought it to Quilted Joy to pick out backing and a quilting design so that I could quilt it for her.
Looking at the top, I'm guessing that Molly loves purple. Those chevrons are in four shades of purple. We had the perfect backing fabric for this quilt - Cracked Ice in a color called Wisteria which happens to have all these shades of purple.
Molly chose an edge-to-edge design called Toss Up for her quilting design. It's a fun design that is just right for a young teenaged girl, and it works perfectly to soften those angular chevrons. Of course, the quilting itself was done in light purple...
Congratulations, Molly, on your first quilt!
