Lisa's Hexies Quilt (Times Two!)
Have you ever made a quilt and had so much fun, you needed to make another one right away? Lisa knows how you feel! Lisa made these two very similar (and very cute!) hexagon quilts. One is for herself and the other one is for her daughter.
This first one has a modern feel with the grey background and muted colors in her hexagons.
This one feels very girly and fun with bright florals and a green background.
When she dropped off her quilts we talked about the different quilting options. All that yummy negative space in the solid backgrounds will really show off the quilting. This would definitely be a fun quilt to give a custom treatment. But budget and time will often lead folks to choose a fun edge to edge design instead.
We looked at the patterns and designs in Lisa's hexagons for inspiration while choosing a pantograph. The green quilt was calling for something floral and fun. The Periwinkle pantograph was a perfect choice!
I love how some of the flowers landed perfectly inside a hexagon!
Lisa's more modern grey quilt had lots of interesting prints. We thought the Funky Fleur de Lys pantograph would pair nicely with it. Lisa's quilts look so good!
