Have you heard the exciting news? Linda Hrcka of The Quilted Pineapple will be visiting Quilted Joy to teach a two day machine quilting workshop! Linda has a phenomenal ability to carve out space in a quilt with her quilting. Her quilting not only adds a beautiful element to the quilt, but it also accentuates and highlights the piecing and applique. She is an incredibly talented longarm quilter and I’m looking forward to learning from her along with you.

Linda will be teaching five classes over two days on March 15-16, 2019 here in the Quilted Joy classroom in Louisville, KY. These lecture and demo classes will cover lots of topics like feathers, fillers, and ruler work. Linda will demonstrate her techniques on a stand up longarm machine. To make it easy for everyone to see we’ll have a camera displaying on a jumbo screen. Her classes are perfect for all skill level quilters and are ideal for both stand up and sit down quilters. We’ll also be providing a delicious deli lunch for both days of classes, so come ready to learn!

After class each day we’ll also host an optional open studio until 9:00pm. During this time you can play on our longarm quilting machines and practice some of the techniques you learned during class at no additional cost. Use your class time soaking in Linda’s knowledge, then spend as much time as you like stitching up your new skills!

The Apprentice

Awesome for beginners! Amazing for experienced quilters! Come prepared to learn an abundant array of techniques and designs that will give you a whole new outlook on quilting. All aspects of the quilt process are covered, from beginning until end. Linda Hrcka will share the ins and outs of batting, thread, and designs. Learn how to overcome those “difficult” quilts. Linda will share her tips and secrets! Enjoy a few chuckles as Linda shares the trials of her own quilt journey as part of the learning process! You’ll leave class with your head swimming with ideas.

Quilting the Custom Quilt and Borders

Make your quilt come to life! Learn techniques for creating custom designs to fit every quilt. Linda will offer new ways to approach the design process. Tips for tackling everything from large spaces, applique, to the tiniest block design. Use designs to create amazing secondary designs within the quilt that will transform quilts into treasured masterpieces. You’ll be left with an abundance of inspiration!
