If you've been keeping up with the blog, you've probably noticed we've had lots of announcements lately. It's been a busy couple of weeks, and there's still more to come! Consequently, it has put me a bit behind on adding our renters and customer quilts. I promise we'll catch up eventually! For now, check out three lovely quilts from three of our lovely renters. Carolyn rented the APQS quilting machine at Quilted Joy! Carolyn is one of our fastest renters at Quilted Joy; she once finished quilting a king quilt in about 5 hours, a feat that still boggles my mind! For this twin quilt, we were really inspired by all the stars in her top. We recently added a few star pantos to the store and the Star Dance paper pantograph was perfect for this quilt. Stars are hard enough to draw on paper, and quilting them isn't any easier. What I like about this panto is you have a clear entry and exit for each star and the stars have uneven angles. That way you aren't stressing out about making a perfect star as you quilt. Carolyn rented the APQS quilting machine at Quilted Joy! In love with Jennifer's Overall Sam applique quilt! - QuiltedJoy.com I love the story behind this quilt Jennifer worked on. When her son was about three-years-old, her mother made him an Overall Sam applique quilt. The denim used for each little sam came from Jennifer's dad's and husband's old blue jeans. As you can imagine, this quilt has huge sentimental value for her son who is now all grown up with a family of his own. In fact, he loved it so much over the years that it was falling apart. Jennifer tried to fix it, but unfortunately it was beyond repair. Instead she pieced together a whole new top in the same style as the original and moved all the Sams to the new quilt. His 40th birthday was earlier this month and Jennifer surprised him with the new quilt, which he of course loved! That's such a great idea for the quilts that are beyond our capabilities. Now, this quilt has a piece of his mom's love too and he can cherish it even longer! Overall Sam on Jennifer's quilt - QuiltedJoy.com T-shirt quilt for a breast cancer survivor - QuiltedJoy.com Finally, because it's breast cancer awareness month I wanted to share Coleen's t-shirt quilt with you all. One of Coleen's dear friends is a breast cancer survivor and over the years has collected a lot of shirts at all the events she attended. Not wanting to simply throw them away, she asked Coleen if there was anything she could do to help her out. This was a big quilt, her friend has a king bed, and Coleen actually ran out of shirts! To compensate, she pieced the ribbon blocks in each corner. With a quilt that symbolizes so much love and hope, you can't go wrong with the Heart Fancy Paper Pantograph!
