Images in nature are beautiful and common themes to include in artwork. Flowers, vines, and trees often make it to a quilt top. But there is more than just flora out there. Let’s not forget the fauna. Carol quilted her Strip Butterflies quilt at Quilted Joy Carol made this Strip Butterflies Quilt with batik fabrics. The butterflies are so colorful. The colorful border ties it all together ending in that beautifully matched blue with rainbow accents border. The pantograph she chose also subtly accents the design. She quilted it here with our Airborne pantograph. It reminds me of wind swirling giving flight to her butterflies. Rita quilted her Halloween themed Pins and Paws Quilt at Quilted Joy. This was a while ago, but a beautiful example. These are Halloween Cats in black and orange. This was made by Rita with a Pins and Paws quilt pattern from Missouri Star Quilt Company. It’s a clever mix of calico, tabby, and black cats, all made with Halloween themed fabric for her niece and nephew. Rita quilted her Halloween themed Pins and Paws Quilt at Quilted Joy. She quilted it with our Turbulance pantograph. I think the swirls over the straight angles of the cats gives them a little magic for a spooky night. Nancy quilted her Pins and Paws quilt at Quilted Joy. Here’s another example of the Pins and Paws quilt. This one made by Nancy. I like the use of the pop of purple in some of the squares along with the border. The colors are a bit more muted than Rita’s but we still have the mix of black, tabby, and calico cats. A beautiful piece beautifully done. She quilted it freehand from edge to edge with a series of curls. It kind of reminds me of cat claws. Meow! Colleen quilted her Elizabeth Hartman Dogs in Sweaters quilt at Quilted Joy. Not to be out done, the dogs make an appearance. Colleen made this Elizabeth Hartman quilt pattern called Dogs in Sweaters. She choose to quilt it with our Bubbles Design board. The design board allows for very accurate quilting giving her those beautiful full round circles all over the quilt. Dogs do love playing with balls and now these fellows have plenty. The contrast between the curves and the plaid is also a nice added element. Colleen quilted her Elizabeth Hartman Dogs in Sweaters quilt at Quilted Joy.
