The holidays are always a busy season at Quilted Joy. So many quilters are busily working on presents for their family and friends or finishing up UFOs to meet annual goals. We think it's safe to post pictures now, so let's see what they were working on!

Colleen has become the master of efficiency. She brought in five table runners to quilt for family members for Christmas. She planned carefully so that she could lay them out on a single piece of backing fabric and use the same panto all the way across. We found a perfect pantograph for her in the pantograph library - snowflakes!

After finishing her runners, Colleen also quilted a darling wallhanging for her grandson, using the Limetree pantograph. This is one quarter of Elizabeth Hartman's Fancy Forest. Six projects quilted in one day!!!

Pam brought in another T-shirt quilt. She took our T-shirt quilt class last summer to learn the basics, but she always adds her own touches to her quilts. This quilt is for an Assumption High School graduate, so she chose a sashing color that closely matched one of the school's colors. Pam used the Turbulance panto to quilt this quilt, giving it some nice curved texture. She even included a little pocket that could be used as a remote holder! Liz watched over her while she quilted to make sure she didn't quilt over the pocket.

If Colleen is the master of efficiency, Bertie is the master of the log cabin! I love her log cabin variation quilts with the stars hidden in the sashing. Although Bertie's favorite color is purple, she made this one in red, white, and black. Isn't it striking? She chose the Periwinkle pantograph and quilted the quilt using a red thread.

Here is a vintage-looking quilt that Pat quilted here recently. She chose to quilt this quilt freehand to emphasize the motion of the pinwheels. If you look closely, you will see the swirling pinwheels that she placed in the negative space. Pat dyed her own blue/purple/white backing for this quilt. Finally, Pat quilted this baby quilt for a family friend who just had a baby girl. Like the pinwheel quilt above, this quilt is quilted freehand. Pat made the most of the open areas between those colorful sashings by quilting flowers. She quilted meandering hearts in the sashings and used a piano key border quilting design.
