Pam brought in this lovely wallhanging a few weeks ago to quilt. The design is by Jinny Beyer and is called Stained Glass Star. Aren’t those blues, greens and golds gorgeous together? Pam even used Jinny’s famous border prints in this project to tie it all together. It took a couple of rental sessions, but she quilted it entirely freehand, using “Terry Twists” within the star and meandering designs in the background and the border. You can really see all her quilting from the back of the quilt. Beautiful work!
Stephanie quilted this top using the Lorien’s Paisley pantograph. Its flowery style fits this quilt perfectly! The greyish-blue and red fabrics used in the central part of the top are softened by the creamy background fabric and the floral print.
We always tell people to bring in a top that they would be comfortable practicing on for their rental certification class. Not Nancy – she brought in this sweet top instead. It looks like it may be the Ribbon Star design from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I really like how she introduced some bolder colors in a couple of the blocks, giving the eye plenty of points of interest upon which to focus. Nancy used the A Little Bit This pantograph and did a great job!
Speaking of A Little Bit This, here it is again. Alice’s top, which is a wedding signature quilt, uses brighter colors in a more contemporary setting. A Little Bit This is one of our most popular pantos because it works in so many settings. Alice chose a light neutral thread color so that the signatures, congratulatory messages, and words of advice would be the stars in this wonderful quilt.
