Splitting squares diagonally in half and getting your points perfectly in the center once it's all sewn is one thing, doing the same with a rectangle is entirely different. Now we have a tool that makes that easy and accurate every time. The Split Rects tool allows you to cut, sew, and trim rectangular quilt blocks that have a single seam dividing it diagonally down the center. The rectangles all have the same one to two ratio, meaning that the length is always twice the width.

On the Split Rects ruler, you will find a labels that tell you how wide to cut strips of fabric to cut pieces that will result in a desired finished size. All the seam allowances are included in the cutting dimensions so no math required. The pieces you cut with this tool will be slightly over sized. This allows you to align your seam on the ruler and trim them down to the precise size you want ensuring that the seam is placed ever so slightly off center to ensure the seam is right where your future seams will meet it for those clean points we all want in our quilts.
