Bethanne Nemesh from White Arbor Quilting has created the Lavender Lines 1 Ruler. This a very versatile little ruler. It has one long curved line, one short curved line, and a 1" half circle cut out. The curved line is convex versus the concave curve on the paired ruler, Lavender Lines 2. There is also a stitch in the ditch side which is shorter than the Garden Lines ruler. The marking on the ruler takes into account the distance from the edge of the hopping foot and the needle. This means you can align the marks with the seams and use the ruler to stitch right on top of them.
The Lavender Lines 2 ruler is similar, but the there are differences enough to make them both uniquely useful. The Lavender Lines 1 ruler top curved edge has a shallower elliptical bend to it. The larger curve along the edge is also a bit wider and convex versus the Lavender Lines 2. And while the Lavender Lines 2 has a right angle cut out, the Lavender Lines 1 has a 1" circle. I think you will find either of these tools useful alone, or together as a set.
Bethanne had the Lavender Lines ruler made of cast, compressed acrylic which allows the etched lines to be seen on light as well as dark fabrics. You can also write on this material with permanent marking pens that can then be wiped away with isopropyl alcohol. Check out the rest of Bethanne's amazing rulers available here at Quilted Joy. We are super excited about being able to offer this amazing tool.
