Quilting Modern: Techniques and Projects for Improvisational Quilts by Jacquie Gering and Katie Pedersen. This book has illustrated instructions on how to create modern quilts. Included are a list of recommended tools, a discussion about materials for the quilt itself, directions on piecing and pressing the top, and detailed finishing instructions for quilting, binding, and installing invisible zippers for pillows as well. The authors also chose seven techniques such as crazy cutting, curves, and strip piecing and included three patterns in each group for a total of twenty one projects. This is a great book for someone breaking into quilting that has a more modern preference.
