I've been on a bit of a paisley kick lately and trying out different ways to dress them up. This time I added a fun and girly daisy to the tummy of each paisley and bend it into a wide open meander. Watch the video below to see how to quilt the Daisy Paisley Meander.

How to Quilt the Daisy Paisley Meander

Before you start quilting the daisy paisley, be sure to check out this video about how to quilt a paisley. During this video tutorial I break down the anatomy of a paisley and how to quilt it in a border.

To quilt the daisy paisley, we're going to quilt that typical paisley shape by quilting the head, then the tummy, and backtracking along the spine. In the negative space within our paisley, now we'll add a little daisy. To quilt the daisy we'll add a loop in the paisley's tummy and add petals around the loop. Travel through the spine of the paisley to travel to your next paisley.

A Flirty and Fun Edge to Edge Design!

Doesn't that look like a fun free motion edge to edge design? My paisleys were probably about 5" long and would fill a space nicely. You could make your paisleys bigger or smaller depending on your quilt and preference. And don't forget to vary the direction of your paisleys. Just like with any edge to edge design, you want variety and lots of movement. You can also travel a bit between paisleys. If you find a space that's not quite big enough for your paisley, but still needs to be quilted you could drop in a loop or a even a daisy to fill the space!

The daisy paisley meander is such a fun and flirty edge to edge design! I think it would be adorable on a little girl's quilt, a floral quilt, and so much more! Do you have a quilt calling for this edge to edge design?
