Wow, are there a lot of renter quilts to talk about! Let's start with a wild West theme... Carol made this top from a cowboy-themed panel, coordinating fabrics and borders. She wanted the focus to be on the Western-themed prints and chose the meander design board and a light neutral thread. Super cute! For her rental certification, Clara brought a different cowboy panel. This quilt will be for her very young grandson, so she chose not to add borders to make it bigger. Actually, panels are the perfect size for rental certification and no piecing is required! Clara chose the Star Dance pantograph for her quilt, thinking of a sheriff's badge, and gold thread. We know he's going to love this gift! Virginia brought in this colorful top which is Jenny Doan's Wallflower fusible applique design. We love how she planned her blocks to make them transition like a rainbow! Virginia liked the Hearts and Flowers design board for this quilt. We suggested a white thread that would disappear into her background and not compete overly much with the many bright colors. The resulting texture really looks great on this quilt. And the back just makes you smile too! Mary brought this quilt for her rental certification. It is a rail fence variation in which she didn't try to plan her colors to zigzag across the quilt. I love all the shades of brown and tan she used! Mary selected the meander design board for her quilting pattern and a tan thread that blended well across all of the values in the quilt. Mary also used a great backing fabric that had lots of values, our Flourish tan extra wide backing. Finally, Amanda quilted this pinwheel-style quilt for a young boy. Don't you love the pops of orange? Amanda wanted to keep the theme of whirling motion, so she quilted the top with the Turbulance pantograph and grey thread. It looks fabulous! Great job everyone!
