More wonderful renter projects
We have some wonderful renter quilting to share with you!
Jean brought this colorful top in to quilt for a friend. Each of those triangles is a bandana worn by a dog that her friend has owned. Jean embroidered the dogs' names on the solid black fabric around the edges. Because she wanted to make sure the dogs and their attire remained the stars in this quilt, Jean selected the meander design board and a thread that blended well. We are all animal lovers here at Quilted Joy, so this project was special to us all. What a beautiful gift!
Bertie just started renting late last year. In her first rental session, she quilted this king-size log cabin with hidden stars top for one of her children. She used the Periwinkle pantograph and a green thread that blended well across all of the fabrics in the top. She is really happy to finally have this quilted!
Emily brought in this contemporary quilt. The blocks are cut from strip sets, and because her sashing matches some of the fabrics in the blocks, it gives the impression that the blocks are floating. She chose the Airborne pantograph to add curves to the otherwise linear feel of the blocks. Looks great, Emily!
Karen became a renter recently too. Most of our rental certification students choose to learn to use a longarm while using design boards or pantographs. Karen went straight to the front of the machine and quilted her top using a variety of meanders and some swirls. She selected a neutral thread that blended well with the light, medium, and dark values in the top. Her fabrics tell a story of travel by plane, train or car, and she completed her own freehand doodle journey during class! I love watching new longarmers pushing the envelope!
