Lone Star Quilt Corner Blocks
I still don't have a wide shot of the Susan's Lone Star quilt- it is HUGE! The best part is all the open space I have to play in on her quilt.
The outside border has these incredibly well made stars. I've never been brave enough to piece something like this. The most impressive part is that her stars lay flat, flat, flat. She is a great piecer.
Also notice the small outside purple border. I put a ribboned filler cascading around the top. It is so fun to do!
I did a rotating feather in each of the star points. In the outside border I put a switchback feathered spine. So far, there is almost a mile of thread in this quilt! I'm thrilled with how it is turning out. All that is left is to turn it and do the other two borders.
