Debbie's Friendship Garden quilt is finished. This quilt had lots of open space (which I just love, since it gives me a place to play!). I did a feathered motif in each of the plain blocks, and a delicate petal star in the alternate blocks. Then I added hearts to the corners of the plain blocks. The petal stars create a gentle curved frame around each of the feathered motifs. It looks great. I put orange peels with feathered stems in the borders. The outside corners have an oval feathered accent that mimics the interior of the quilt and pulls it all together. Debbie is a fairly new quilter but, as you can see from the precise piecing on this quilt, she certainly isn't a novice quilter any longer!
