There have been some super adorable baby quilts coming through the shop lately between our renters and customers. This little bunnies quilt from Lillian is probably one of the cutest! Bunnies Baby Quilt Lillian made this quilt for one of her grandchildren. She embroidered little bunnies into each block and added some fun sayings like "Somebunnys napping" and "I've been an Angel today." All of those rabbits remind me of the story of the velveteen rabbit - about the toy rabbit who believed if he was loved enough by his boy, he would one day become a real rabbit. I hope the lucky grandbaby using this quilt loves it as much as the boy loved his velveteen rabbit! Bunny Angel I'm also in love with the backing fabric for this quilt! We have a large selection of quilter's cotton flat folds available in the showroom and one of my favorite sets has a farming theme. The rows of carrots, cabbages, and radishes was the perfect choice for a bunny quilt. Bunny Backing Bunny Hugs Originally I was just going to quilt this with a basic all over meandering treatment. But right before I loaded this on the table, the HQ Arc Templates arrived at the store and this quilt was calling for them! I used the HQ arc B set to make the shallow curves in each corner and for the scallops in the border. In the sashing spaces I quilted a curling ribbon. This is a fun, beginner design I find myself going back to all the time. You can watch an APQS tutorial video for how to quilt this design here. You can also alter this design just a bit to make it a dense filler design, you can see how to quilt the filler design in this video. To finish it off, I added a dense stippling to each block.
