Soft and Bright Pastels from our Longarm Renters to brighten your day!

These quilters all brought in quilts with soft and bright pastel colors in their fabrics. Some of the quilts are simple and some are intricate and complex. But all are sweet in pinks, sky blues, yellows and greens. I think these are loads of fun.

Oh how we miss our renters! We have not been able to have anyone or their beautiful quilts come into the shop for a month and we miss them so. But at least we still have some pictures from when they were able to come in.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Can you hear the music box like melody of the ice cream truck coming round? We’d drop everything to run out and try to catch him. Well, ice cream trucks tend to only come around on hot days, but the grandchild getting this quilt can dream of ice cream all year round with this quilt. Colleen made this Sweet Treat quilt by Pen + Paper Patterns in the colors of ice cream, all soft and bright. She quilted this with the Seamless pantograph adding that nice meandering path of the ice cream truck to the quilt.

Pretty pink sampler

This is a soft and bright quilt if ever I saw one. Kathy made this sampler in all shades of pink with some bright yellow and orange thrown in for good measure. It is really lovely and very balanced. She wanted to add some lacy texture to this quilt so she used the Mandarin Lace paper pantograph. This pantograph has some nice curls and bends and looks very much like lace. It is a great touch for a beautiful quilt.

Howdy, cowfolk!

The next two quilts were both done by Lisa on the same day. They are simple block quilts, but it is the fabric that makes them so cute. She used Howdy from Moda Fabrics. This cowgirl quilt has squares with roses and gingham and little horseshoes. The soft and bright colors add a lot to the sweet nature of this quilt. So she decided to run with that theme and quilted it with a design board called Sweet Hearts. This is a very popular design of repeating hearts and blossoms. It was a great choice for this top!

This version of the quilt is the cowboys. You can see the paisleys and cowboy boots and polkadots. Also made with soft and bright colors, the blues and browns look amazing together. She quilted this one with another design board, but this time with the orange peel which adds a lot of lovely texture and a classic design to the top. The use of a design board makes it easy to do this design in a consistent and even way.

I hope these soft and bright pastels were able to brighten your day a little. Beautiful colors in creative patterns always seem to brighten mine. We miss our renters and look forward to when we can all come out of hiding again. In the meantime, connect with us online! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and check out our Quilted Joy Clubhouse. We meet once a month to learn, share, and come together from the safety of our own homes. Stay safe out there!
