At my monthly longarm guild meeting on Wednesday one of the gals came up to me and said, “Angela, I saw you on Fons & Porter this weekend with Marianne!” A wave of embarrassment came over me as I realized I must have missed my first episode as the host of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting.
In my defense, it aired on KET2 and I don’t even get that channel. In fact, the last time I wanted to watch an episode of Fons & Porter on KET2, my guild and I had to go to a bar! Can you imagine what the bartenders must have thought? A group of 20-30 women walking into a bar at 11:30 in the morning and demanding they change the channel to KET2 so they can watch the quilting show!
Lucky for me, I haven’t totally missed my chance to watch the newest episodes of Fons & Porter! KET and KET2 have the upcoming schedule for Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting episodes listed here on their website. You can see me at the end of all the episodes of the 2900 series at the Tip Table with Marianne Fons. You’ll also see me hosting 4 episodes, From Sea to Shining Sea, Freemotion and Threads with Karen McTavish, Red Between the Lines, Part 1, and Red Between the Lines, Part 2.
The episodes I’m most looking forward to are Red Between the Lines, Parts 1 and 2. These were the first episodes I recorded as the host and I was super nervous! Just being on the set with all the lights and cameras pointing towards you is nerve wracking, but working with – and sewing in front of – Marianne really made those butterflies flutter in my stomach! Marianne was so kind and comforting. She has a way of welcoming you and treating you like an old friend that made the whole experience such a joy.
Please don’t forget to watch the latest episodes of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting on your local PBS station! If you’re in Kentucky, new episodes are currently airing on Mondays at 11:30am on KET2. If you’re like me and don’t receive KET2, the episodes will air again on Saturdays at 11:30am on KET beginning January 21, 2017. Let me know when you’re watching an episode here on the blog or over on Facebook. We worked hard on each episode and I’m sure you’ll love them!
For those wondering, KET and KET2 are the PBS affiliates here in Kentucky. If you live in Kentucky and some parts of Indiana and Ohio, you likely receive either of these stations. To find the Fons & Porter episode schedule for your area, check with your local PBS station.
