Here are more quilts finished recently by our renters!
Nancy has been cleaning out her UFO closet. A week after attending rental certification class, she brought in this red, cream and green top to quilt. The fabrics in this top are Civil War reproductions – her favorites – and she quilted the quilt using the China Grove pantograph and cream thread.
Nancy next brought in this Strip Club offering which had been finished for a little while, waiting to be quilted also. I believe those are Kansas Troubles fabrics. She used the A Little Bit This pantograph to add some curves and soften the otherwise linear look of this design.
Dianna brought in this energetic top to be quilted. I love that focus fabric – so colorful and interesting! Her double border in the bright green is a unique touch that really pulls the attention inward to the focus fabric, too. She decided to quilt this top using the Turbulance pantograph and a bright green thread. Doesn’t it just glow?
Connie quilted this Grandmother’s Fan quilt using Affinity Wine, a beautiful variegated polyester thread that perfectly complemented her top. She chose a pantograph called Feathered Flowers that complemented the quilt’s design well. Her original thread choice, a Valdani cotton variegated thread, was beautiful but a little too brittle for the long thread path and tension of a longarm machine. It’s always a good idea to check ahead if you have an unusual thread that you’d like to try. We’re happy to help you test it to see if it will work, and we’re always happy to learn about new threads!
Finally, Kimberly did her rental certification class recently and quilted this top. This is her first quilt – she took our beginning piecing class in the summer and learned how to use a longarm so she could quilt it. She used the meander design board and did a beautiful job. We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see what she does next!
