Marilou’s Santa Quilt

Sometimes people dismiss panel quilts. I’ve always liked them, though. Most of the time they come with a cute focus piece like this great snowman.

Marilou put on a series of borders which nicely frames out the focus panel and everything is flannel so it is super snuggly!

She wanted this custom quilted so I added spirals for his cheeks and echoed dimensional lines in his hat. I used a basic meander in the blue background and swirling snow in the scarf and snowballs.

The small inner borders have loopeys and the red border got holly. The bigger blue border got snowflakes and in the outside mitten border I just traced the mittens. I used a looped meander to travel from mitten to mitten.

Are you ready for Christmas? *if you want me to quilt your quilt by Christmas I need it in by Halloween. That is the only way I can ensure that I get to enjoy Christmas too.
