Evelyn's Playful Purple Daisy
Lots of you contacted me about Eve's Santa quilt and most liked the larger swirls behind her applique. Well, she agrees with all of you! That's the one she's chosen to go with and I think it will look fabulous. Evelyn works at one of my local quilt shop gems, Among Friends Quilt Shop. She was even featured in a local woman's magazine recently! If you saw her face, you'd know why. She is one of those people whose eyes sparkle. Do you know anyone like that? I'm going to guess that one of the things that keeps that sparkle going is quilting. She made this fun easy going quilt top with lots of room for me to play. Take a look at the chenille she used for the stems on the flowers and the scrolls in the outside border. That fuzzy touch adds so much to the quilt, don't you think?
I put an echo around the flowers and added some detail around the purple petals. The purple and yellow blocks have a motif and an arch in the small yellow border.
I especially like the white setting triangles. I put a curly daisy in those and I'm really happy with how they turned out.
The outside border is a stipple with the detailing on the petals in the corners. Oh, and curly swirls in the purple skinny borders. Those were fun to make!
Evelyn also had me do another quilt for her. Come back soon to see that one. It is beautiful!
