Sarah put these scrappy stars on large white on white rose fabric. Each star is made up of a variety of styles of fabric all appliqued with a ric rac trim.
I decided to quilt a large star in each of the empty blocks to mimic the pieced stars. I put a scrolled feather in the arm of each star to give it some spin. Finally, I took the rose motif from the background fabric and made freehand meandering cabbage roses throughout the background.
The backing fabric is a red with large white polka dots so the quilt has a very flirty personality. It is a really interesting combo of vintage contemporary, eh?
