Quilt Fairy Shipping Team

Shipping in the USA for an APQS longarm machine typically costs between $650 – $750. Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Ohio enjoy $650 flat rate freight.  Most orders should arrive in 1-5 business days from the time the shipment leaves the factory in Carroll, Iowa.

Arrangements can be made if you would like to pick up your machine at the APQS Factory in Carroll, Iowa, or the APQS Showroom in Des Moines, Iowa.

Intelliquilter computerized system prices include shipping.

Quilt Fairy Remote Setup Experts

Your machine was designed to be a self install. You’ll find that since our machines don’t come apart in multiple sections, assembly is simple and will only take a few hours. 

The machine will come with easy-to-follow, step-by-step full color assembly instructions as well as a manual. The sewing head is assembled for you; you only need to add the handles and axles and assemble the table.

Angela is a leading specialist in assisting Intelliquilter self installs for APQS machines. She has guided dozens and dozens of happy owners from coast to coast install their own IQ. 

Quilt Fairy Installation Professionals

If you’d like your machine professionally installed a member of the Quilt Fairy team will be happy to install it for $750 plus travel depending on your location.

Intelliquilter systems can also be professionally installed by our Quilt Fairy team if desired. You will pay dealer travel costs. Contact us for more info on how much this would be to your studio.

Quilt Fairy Technicians

Quilted Joy is home to an APQS Factory Certified Quilt Fairy Tech. We offer warranty repair service and standard repair services for APQS Longarm machines.

Repair services include “APQS Mini Spa in the Box” and “APQS Spa Treatments” for APQS machines. A la carte services include hook removal, replacement and retiming as well as repacking gear boxes, replacing rocker assemblies and all warrantied services. Please make an appointment with the Quilt Fairy technicians here at Quilted Joy to reserve an appointment for any needed repairs on your APQS machine prior to bringing your machine into our shop. Machines that are dropped off without an appointment may incurr a longer wait time for repair completion than is typical. 

What is in an APQS Spa Treatment and when do you need one? 

Typically, we start seeing machines for Mini Spa in the Box treatments after 3-6 years and Deluxe Spa in a Box treatments after 8-10 years. However, there are many things that factor into these ranges, such as usage, how well it’s maintained and the environment. 

Your machine should be seen on the earlier end of the range if:

  • you use your machine multiple times a week.
  • you’re a free-range parent and only clean or oil when the machine complains.
  • you use a lot of linty cotton thread and/or batting.
  • your environment has fluctuating power, static electricity, a lot of pet hair or is very damp.

Your machine can wait longer to be seen if:

  • your machine sees light usage.
  • you clean and oil regularly.
  • you haven’t noticed any degradation of performance.
