Backing Fabric For Rentals

Our Rental Certification class is kept to no more than two students so you can focused attention. The class generally runs about 2- 3.5 hours depending on how many people are taking the class, the size of the quilts and the size of the patterns chosen to stitch. You will not be using the computer for this class. This class covers using paper pantographs or using freemotion to complete your quilt.

You will quilt your own quilt in the class so please bring something that is about 40″ x 50″ or so. It could be up to 60″ x 70″ or so.  And, it should be something the dog will look very nice sitting upon. Leave your needle turned Baltimore Album masterpiece at home. 🙂 We want you to not worry if you make a mistake.

If you have not rented in over a couple of years you likely need refresher help, it is available for $20.

For the class you’ll need backing fabric that is at least 6″ bigger than your quilt top and batting that is at least 6″ bigger than your quilt top. So, if your quilt was 50″ x 50″, you’ll need a backing fabric that is a minimum of 56″ x 56″. Of course, it could be bigger- just no smaller.

Keep in mind that we have over 150 bolts of 108″ wide backing fabrics hand selected for you!

Batting Fabric For Rentals

There are some battings that are simply too fragile to use on the frame and will drastically reduce your success and happiness with the final product. We sell a variety of great battings that perform perfectly on the frame and we know you’ll love them.

Please do not bring Fairfield brand or Mountain Mist brand or the JoAnne’s house generic brand. Most any other brand works great. Do NOT baste your quilt. Bring it in three separate layers as each element (top, batting, back) has to be mounted to its own pole.
