Approved APQS Needles.
These Groz-Beckert needles are for APQS longarm quilting machines. They are industrial needles. All APQS machines are timed to the MR 4.0 18 needle but don't let that limit you! Have a number of different size needles on hand so you can run any of the threads you love.
If your top thread starts to shred, change the needle or go to a larger eye. If you are using a super skinny thread, choose a smaller needle size. If you are using a big fat cotton, choose a larger size needle. Have some of each size on hand so you are ready for whatever you want to run.
Listed are two needles for George: the Schmetz 12/80 and Schmetz 14/90. Those needles are super skinny, and I wouldn't use the Schmetz in a stand-up longarm machine but they are perfect for George. You could use the 14 in a stand-up longarm, but go SUPER slow. These are skinny, delicate APQS needles that our George machine will like, but if you quilt at high speeds with it on a stand up machine, you are risking needle breakage.
These needles are just the way Amy at APQS likes them: NOT titanium tipped.
