Machine Sales and Education Coordinator Fairy- Full time or Part Time

We firmly believe that teaching people to sew will make the world a better place!

Our ideal candidate has sewing experience and is interested in learning new techniques that they can teach to our customers while building our community.

More than anything, though, a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with customers is essential.

This person will need to be comfortable with basic computer skills including simple spreadsheets.

You will be our full time primary sewing machine salesperson. You will be surrounded by quilting goodness all while spoiling our incredibly friendly and kind customer base. You are going to LOVE them!

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB SUMMARY

  • Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored recommendations regarding sewing machines and related products.
  • Follow up on sales leads and inquiries, providing prompt and knowledgeable assistance to potential customers.
  • Coordinate and promote our adult educational sewing classes, including scheduling, registration, communication with teachers and assisting with coordinating class supply lists as needed.
  • Ensure seamless coordination with our machine service technicians by checking in sewing machines for repairs with an eye towards helping those who would be better served by stepping up into a modern sewing machine.
  • Answer incoming inquiries regarding sewing machines, offering guidance and assistance to address customer questions and concerns.
  • Assist with general retail sales duties during high promotional periods as needed, including cashiering and maintaining a tidy and welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish meaningful connections with customers.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with a genuine desire to assist and support individuals within the quilting community.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday from 8:30am- 5pm.
  • Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 20 lbs, and climbing the occasional ladder.

Ideally, you have a background in sewing or quilting already and live within 30 miles of Louisville. A college degree is a plus but not required. Shipping Sprite- Picker Packer

All while working in a supportinve environment where you don’t have to walk 10 miles a day and be tethered to a computer that times your every move? Then we should chat!

Who are we? We’re Quilted Joy, a unique quilt shop in Louisville, Ky focused on the joy in machine quilting. We are looking for someone who loves supporting our incredible community of sewists by gathering items orders and lovingly packaging them up for shipment. Does this sound like you? Good! Your day to day tasks would involve picking the items ordered, scanning those items into the shipping software and packing them up for shipment. We are looking for someone who wants to increase their skills and their career in our nationally recognized quilt shop with a growing following. You will also check in our inventory as it arrives and restock shelves as needed.

Oh, and just wait until you meet our team and our stitching community. They are the kindest, nicest, group of quilters you’ll ever meet.

SCHEDULE: Three- Four days a week, 9am- 4pm.

JOB SUMMARY: The Shipper’s primary function is to pick, pack, and ship customer orders efficiently and accurately.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Move through the aisle with cart and pick standard products from shelves based on the information on the pick list
Take cart to the shipping station
Scan order and double-check the accuracy of items
Select appropriate size box based on order size and contents
Pack products for shipping
Print the shipping label and tape box
Maintain a clean and tidy workstation
Perform duties with high accuracy and high productivity

Assist with receiving and restocking our incoming products

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma or GED
Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping environment preferred

Physical Requirements :

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and repeatedly

Standing for extended periods of time – work stations are equipped with supportive floor pads.
Walking as needed.
Reaching above shoulders repeatedly and moving up to 10 lbs each time.
Pushing/pulling full product carts repeatedly

THE POSITION OVERVIEW

The Quilt Fairy Customer Service Specialist’s main function is to provide high level support to our fabulous customer base at Quilted Joy. The goal for this position is to nurture and coach the incredible creativity of our customers both in person and online as they select from the best sewing fabrics & notions that we’ve hand selected.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking someone who has a teacher’s heart and enjoys cheering on the creative endeavors of others. You will have an understanding of the challenges and triumphs that goes along with making something by hand. Ideally you have a background in sewing or quilting already, live within 30 miles of Louisville and seek to expand your skills while helping others grow their knowledge as well.

THE ROLE

You will cut fabric for orders, help package our quilt kits, assist with our displays and help with restocking tasks as needed.

Assist our customers both in house and online as they purchase their quilty items.

You will learn about longarm quilting machines and how to use them so you can assist with our longarm rental program as needed. 

Seek out ways to improve our processes and grow our business.

Support our customers and our team as needed with a loving presence.
