You may not think a quilt shop will be the job that launches your career to new heights. But, keep in mind we are so much more. We are a video production studio, national marketing agency, pattern design house with a thriving e-commerce wing, and, oh yeah, a quilt shop that draws happy folks in from coast to coast. THE POSITION OVERVIEW
Quilted Joy is looking for a Creative Manager position that will play a significant role in telling the story of our brand and supporting the marketing efforts of the company.
 
We have a strong national following in the quilting industry. The ideal candidate would love to be surrounded by quilting goodness all while spoiling our incredibly friendly and kind customer base. RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB SUMMARY
  • Fully develop high-quality, accurate designs and layouts for creative projects (including print collateral, national periodical advertising, signage, package inserts, and web graphics) that align with our brand
  • Shoots and edits our video tutorials for the web
  • Oversees our livestreams and online course
  • Creates and Deploys our editorial Calendar
  • Supervises our Fantastic Social Media Specialist
  • Updates graphics on website for events/promos (no previous experience needed)
  • Oversees email marketing strategy
  • Nurtures and engages with our fervent online community
  • This is a full time position in our Louisville office Monday-Friday
  • Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 30 lbs, and climbing the occasional ladder
Ideally you have a background in sewing or quilting already (or a bit of an interest but a willingness to learn a wee bit is the most important thing). A college degree in Video Production/Communication with an emphasis in Marketing is preferable. There is a reason our company has over 300 five star reviews on Google and Facebook. Quilted Joy was designed to encourage, educate and lift up the quilting community both in Louisville and online through training, a community support system, coaching and special events.

CANDIDATES MUST:
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Rush) while also knowing when to just get it done using Canva Pro
  • Must have understanding of print and digital file formats and when to apply them
  • Efficient, organized, and possesses excellent communication skills
  • Obsesses over the Details – You are committed to paying attention to the details

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB SUMMARY

  • Identify and onboard special retail offerings including fabric line purchases.
  • Identify and Recommend Quilt Kits that resonate with our customers. 
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of our products.
  • Help customers select fabric and thread for their next amazing project.
  • Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services. 
  • Supervise our two phenomenal Quilt Fairies.
  • Take occasional telephone orders
  • Cross-sell products
  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked
  • Manage returns of merchandise
  • Write and Respond to occasional emails from customers and/or forward those requests to the appropriate team member
  • This is a full time position Tuesday through Saturday, day side in our Louisville retail shop.
  • Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 40 lbs, and climbing the occasional ladder.


Ideally you have a background in sewing or quilting already and live within 40 miles of Louisville. A college degree is a plus but not required.
