We’re thrilled to welcome nationally recognized quilter and award-winning educator Bethanne Nemesh of White Arbor Quilting to Quilted Joy this fall! Join us for a two-day quilting event that blends hands-on practice with design draw & expert insights to take your freehand quilting to the next level.

This immersive workshop features interactive design draw lectures and hands-on quilting on longarm machines, with only two students per machine for plenty of personal guidance. Your workshop registration also includes a ticket to Bethanne’s inspiring Yarn Couching Trunk Show on Saturday evening. Not joining the full workshop? Day 1: Mastering Feathers Workshop

Morning: Feather Faster 4 hrs (Hands-On Long Arm)

Discover the secrets of Bethanne’s time-saving “spineless feather” technique! Learn how to quilt entire areas with freehand feathers without constant readjustment. Ideal for both longarm and sit-down quilters, this class will help you quilt faster with gorgeous results. students per longarm machine.

Afternoon: Formal Feathers (Design Draw, Lecture 2 hrs)

Take your feathers from good to heirloom quality! Bethanne breaks down the art of finessing formal feathers: how to bend, grade, and twist them with elegance and confidence.

Day 2: Design & Detail Workshop

Morning: Blending Backgrounds 4 hrs (Hands-On Long Arm)

Learn how to transition smoothly between different background fill designs to create movement, contrast, and flow. This hands-on workshop will expand your design vocabulary while sharpening your execution.

Afternoon: Freehand Florals ( Design Draw, Lecture 2 hrs)

From leaves to flowers to graceful serpentine stems, Bethanne shows you how to build organic, freehand floral motifs with confidence. This inspiring lecture will leave you blooming with ideas!

Yarn Couching Trunk Show

Saturday, October 4th, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Monday, October 6th, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Join Bethanne for an exciting fashion and trunk show as she shares her love of yarn couching through her quilts, decorative items, and upcycled jackets. Get tips on the fairly simple techniques and supplies you need to try this free motion quilting (with yarn) technique!
