Ready to take the next step in your quilting journey? Join us for My Next Quilt: Flying Geese, a skill-building class designed for quilters who are comfortable with basic piecing and ready to learn one of quilting's most iconic units.
Using the Spotted Geese pattern by Zen Chic and Studio 180 Design's Wing Clipper I® and Magic Wand®, students will learn how to create precise, perfectly pointed flying geese units with confidence and accuracy. Flying geese are a foundational quilting unit found in countless traditional and modern quilt patterns, making this a valuable technique to add to your quilting toolbox.
Throughout the class, students will learn:
- How to create accurate flying geese units
- Techniques for trimming and squaring units using the Wing Clipper I®
- Tips for achieving crisp points and matching seams
- Proper pressing methods for flat, accurate blocks
- Fabric placement and value considerations for dynamic quilt designs
- How flying geese units can be arranged to create movement and visual interest
As students work through the Spotted Geese quilt, they'll gain confidence in precision piecing while building skills that can be applied to many future quilting projects. This class is perfect for quilters looking to expand beyond basic blocks and explore new design possibilities.
