Circle templates are extremely versatile and should be one of the first longarm quilting rulers to add to your collection. They can be used for continuous curves, wreaths, spines, baptist fan, curved crosshatching and so much more! Make sure you use your extended base when using them with your longarm machine.
To quilt a full circle, place the ProCircle Ruler on the quilt using the appropriate guidelines. Position the hopping foot at 9 o'clock and guide the foot gently around the ruler, stopping when you reach 5 o'clock. Stop the machine (make sure you hit the stop button) with your needle in the down position, reposition your hand to the opposite side of the hopping foot and complete your circle.
ProCircle Rulers are 1/4" (0.25") thick. For quilting circles and curves on longarm quilting machines and domestic sewing machines with ruler feet. The rulers will stitch out a finished size circle as listed. This means the actual acrylic is one half inch smaller. As your ruler foot on your machine travels around the ruler it will naturally add one half inch to the finished size of the circle. For example, a 4" ProCircle ruler will make a 4" finished circle after stitching around it with your ruler foot.
Rulers and templates are all about accuracy not speed. Take your time and you will have great results. Remember, if available use a stitch regulated mode, always stop the machine with the needle in the down position, a ruler foot is a must have as well as an extended base.
