Description
This quilt reminds us of the reflective silence that a midnight frost brings. When you find yourself in that moment as you hear the crackle of wind moving over the ice, it is magical. This winter scene is what inspired Angela Huffman in this design! This quilt was featured in the November/December 2023 edition of Love of Quilting magazine. Angela selected a fabric woven with slightly different colors in its warp and weft, creating depth and richness. Adding a single, carefully placed bold accent strip of sparkling star blocks enhances the overall aesthetic. The result is a field of delight for quilting imagination! Angela employed artful quilting and thread color choices to give the illusion of the blocks floating on-point and suggesting a vertical row of blocks. It is truly a magical quilt!
The Love of Quilting Midnight Frost Quilt Kit highlights the Crossweave Collection designed by Moda with the shimmering stars made from the Artisan Solid Collection for Windham Fabrics. It’s 100% cotton and would make a great project quilt!
The quilt kit includes an autographed copy from Angela Huffman of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting magazine where the pattern was published, as well as all of the yardage required to create the quilt top and binding.
For a backing fabric, we suggest any of our lovely 108″ wide backing fabrics! Our favorites are Grunge – Ash or Peppered Cotton Fog

Great Quilt for my Master this Winter! The directions are specific and the color blue is perfect for my Master Bed. I will add some additional fabric to 4 sides to make it fit my king size mattress. I am beyond excited for this quilt and can't wait to finish it!
