The Gypsy Quilter Clapper will help you get perfectly crisp seams using the steam from your iron. It can be used in quilting and sewing projects for amazingly straight seams, pleats and hems. Made from solid oak hardwood, the Clapper comes in two sizes, Small (7-3/4 inches long) and Large (11-1/2 inches long). Both are tapered with side grooves, making the Clapper extremely comfortable to handle.
How the Gypsy Quilter Clapper Works
Make sure your iron is really nice and hot and on the steam setting. For best results, use with the Gypsy Quilter wool Pressing mat. Press your iron straight down on the seam that you want to flatten, being sure to hold the iron still for a few seconds. *It is important you press straight down, not typical side to side ironing.* Then, simply take your clapper and smack it right down on top of the seam you want flattened. This allows the heat and moisture to be drawn up into the wood, leaving a perfectly flat seam every time! For more stubborn or bulky seams, repeat this on the opposite side of your pieced block or hem for even better results!
