Description

This is a comprehensive class that covers multiple ways to load a quilt on a frame, how to set tension, how to use pantographs & line them up, basic machine maintenance (APQS specific),  how to choose threads, batting. It is mainly lecture/demo so be sure to bring something to write with and a list of any questions you may have. This class was designed for those who’ve recently purchased a machine. If you’re interested in renting time on the longarm machines in our Louisville, KY showroom, please click here for more information on rentals and the rental certification class.

It is free for those who have purchased an APQS new or factory certified used machine (contact Angela to register if you fall into that category (502) 718-7148).   It is designed to help those who own their own stand up quilting machine- regardless of the brand.  This class covers much, much more than our rental certification course. However, taking this course will also certify you to rent our longarm machines by the hour in the future. Taught by Angela Huffman.

We will take a lunch break during class (usually around noon).

*Due to COVID19 this class will be taught live online. Registrants will be given a link to watch and participate. You will be able to ask questions in this format, too. If you have recently purchased an APQS machine please send us an email so we can sign you up for this class as it will be free for you.

Great Online Class At first I was a little disappointed that this is now a virtual class. But after taking it, I am so glad it is. There is so very much information presented that I appreciated being able to review it a couple of times. Angela has a talent for teaching. I highly recommend.

Beginning Longarm quilting This class was so inspiring and educational. I had my longarm about 4 weeks before taking the class. I had practiced a little but was a little afraid of my Lenni. Angela covered so much material and validated my fear of not achieving perfect freemotion quilting immediately. I now feel comfortable to risk making a mistake. And, the tension presentation was amazing. I highly recommend this class to all beginners. Kathy Wantland
