In my (slightly biased 😉) opinion, quilting is easily one of the most addicting hobbies. There’s something so special about searching for the perfect fabrics and putting in every stitch. And I especially love being able to say “I made this quilt myself from start to finish.” It’s so fulfilling to know all those hours spent at your sewing machine resulted in a beautiful, handmade quilt! There’s one step in the quilting process that so many quilters struggle with: the machine quilting. Everyone can quilt their own quilts, and you can learn to machine quilt them on your own home sewing machine!
Learn to machine quilt on your home sewing machine in my Machine Quilting Primer: Baby Quilt class
In this class, that I’ll be teaching on Saturday October 27, we’ll cover the basics of machine quilting on a domestic machine. We’ll be quilting this super sweet pre-printed panel called Anna’s Garden designed by Patrick Lose. This panel is the perfect safe space to learn machine quilting. It has many of the elements you’ll find in a typical quilt – blocks, borders, sashing, and applique – but there’s no piecing necessary. You can learn and play without the fear of making a mistake on a quilt you’ve dedicated lots of time to.
Each student will receive a workbook of all the free motion quilting designs in this quilt. We’ll learn to quilt the quilt one section at a time. Taking our time to learn each new design as we come to it. By the end of the day, you’ll have learned more than 20 fun free motion quilting designs!
Are you ready to learn to machine quilt with your sit down, domestic sewing machine? Join me for the Machine Quilting Primer: Baby Quilt hands on class! I’ll be teaching this on Saturday October 27, 2018 10:30am-3:00pm here at Quilted Joy in Louisville, KY.
