The renters here have been getting into the fall spirit lately with some fun and very cute autumn quilts! Here’s a peek at some of the quilts they’ve been working on!
Nancy brought in this sweet autumn leaf block quilt for her rental certification class. This lap quilt is the Goldilocks quilt for the certification class, it’s not too big or too small! For the quilting, Nancy wanted to stick with the leaf theme and used the Ground Cover pantograph. I can imagine Nancy will be wrapped up in this quilt on cool nights this fall.
Here’s another fun leaf quilt! This is Pat’s maple leaf quilt. Isn’t it interesting how we can start with the same idea, like a leaf, and come up with so many different possibilities? Instead of a pantograph, Pat decided to try out the new leaf design board. This design has lots of curves, which helped soften her angular leaves.
Now, I know Elizabeth Hartman’s Fancy Forest quilt isn’t technically a fall-themed quilt, but Valerie’s earthy colored critters just feel perfect for the season! Valerie also wanted a leafy pantograph for her quilt, and chose the A Little Bit This pantograph. When she bought this pattern, Valerie didn’t have any specific plans in mind for who would receive the final quilt. All she knew for sure was she wanted to try it on a smaller scale before tackling the bed sized quilt.
I feel like we can’t talk about perfect fall quilts without a little Halloween fun! Erin, you can see more of her work at House on Hill Road, made this super fun Halloween Haberdashery quilt. Doesn’t this look like so much fun to make! Erin said she was able to clear out some of the fabrics in her stash to make this one. Isn’t it such a relief to clear out some of your stash? It means you can go replace it with even more fabric! 🙂 Erin is a free motion kinda girl, so she quilted a free hand edge to edge swirls design.
Don’t these quilts make you want to create something fun for fall? Better get to work!
