Over the last couple of months, the crew at Craft University and I have been working hard to finish up the Express Lane to the Free-Motion Quilting Highway with Angela Huffman at Craft Online University. They’ve been editing the videos and I’ve been working on the 40+ downloadable free motion designs, and we’re almost ready to share them with you. My newest free motion quilting class begins on January 23 and it is going to be so much fun!
This class was designed for folks who are comfortable using their machine, but might not have much experience with free motion quilting. It’s also a great course for more experienced free motion quilters looking for design inspiration. Although I’m demonstrating on a longarm, all the quilting designs I’m sharing can be quilted on a sit down longarm AND a regular domestic machine!
The 8+ hours of video classes begin with easy, modern free motion quilting designs. As the class moves on, we’ll slowly work our way towards more complex designs. Students will have the option to download and print out a booklet with all of my designs so they can learn the quilting path by tracing over my drawings.
The second half of the class will focus on my favorite quilting shape – the paisley. We’ll explore ways to use the paisley as a container and fun and beautiful ways to embellish it. I’ll even show you how to make your own zippered pouch like the one pictured above!
