This is the first one in the series I’ve done for her.
She chose to have the Fire Curl pantograph place on it which is a great masculine pattern. She wasn’t sure if anyone would like the red and black combination but I assured her that in this University of Louisville town… there are plenty of people who like that color combination!
She brought the backing to me in a sealed package she had picked up in a clearance bin years ago. It was labeled as being 96 x 108 so we thought we could use it for the backing and she had only paid $1 for it. She bought it years and years ago but when I opened the package it was three strips of regular width fabric. What a bummer! She thought she was saving money but then she had to get it seamed after all before we could use it for her backing.
She has a grandson she said will really like this quilt top and if he is a UofL fan, I know she is right!
