Have you noticed I’ve been a bit quiet lately? Well, this is why.
I’m sorry the photos are kind of blurred and weirdly lit. I was zooming out the door to my annual quilting retreat where I would be delivering this quilt to Eve and I was in a tremendous hurry. I turned the flash off on my camera to be sure you could see the quilting lines as easily as possible.
Eve’s Santa Block of the Month is exquisite! Her applique quilt is fantastic and her needle turn ability is stunning. Take a look at those tiny little pieces. I will admit that I was a bit intimidated by her heirloom top. The good news is she LOVES her quilt! Yay!
I chose to make each Santa block a scene and my daughter helped me decide what to put in the background of each block. We talked about where each of the Santas would be and what they would be doing.
The gardening Santa has a butterfly and ladybug with him alongside his iris and daisies. The gnome Santa is out at night so you can see stars and the light from his candle illuminating the darkness.
I’ve got more to share with you from this quilt in the next couple of days!

I am still so stunned and blown away by your outstanding quilting! I just keep examining each block and running my fingers across it.
For everyone else, by the time Angela was reaching the half-way point of explaining the quilting in each block while showing it at our retreat, I was blubbering like a baby and could no longer see anything.
Thank you, again, Angela, for taking my quilt top and turning it into a masterpiece. My daughter will treasure it forever. Eve
I'm so glad you like it Eve!
