Juanita brought me this lone star top that her Aunt had hand pieced a very long time ago. It was in great shape and I really liked the small star in the setting squares. That is a design touch I haven’t seen very often in lone stars.
Juanita shared with me that her now deceased husband was a patriotic man who always loved this top but her Aunt had died before it could be quilted. A star and loop pantograph really complements this quilt.
The fabrics are a collection of different fibers and it needed a bit of coaxing to lay flat but it laid flat in the end.
We laughed a bit because in almost all of them was this same white background fabric. She must have bought it by the bolt!
