The machine applique of those flowers adds a little pizzazz to the quilt top, don’t you think?

Joan selected an all over, edge-to-edge pattern called Pretty Posies. When selecting an edge to edge pattern for this type of quilt, the stitching will go over the applique. As this was machine appliqued, the quilting stitches helped stabilize the applique as well.

Pretty Posies pantograph on Joan's Layer Cake quilt - QuiltedJoy.comJoan used Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 as her batting and the backing is a beautiful lemon yellow wide back. Her other quilt is off the frame too but you’ll have to come back later to see that one. (What a tease, eh?) Wait until you see it, though. Totally worth the wait!
